As everybody
knows, time is flying, so it was a long time ago, when we had our
well-known breed of the American cocker spaniel and mainly the
Afghan greyhound. At the time we reared an exhibition sort of the
Afghan greyhound, we took part at many exhibitions and dog races,
and besides many other awards we even won the title of “Champion”
in the former Czechoslovakia.
As it is usual in many houses, there have always been also some
cats in our house, no matter if the ordinary ones, or the Persian
ones. However, as soon as we saw for the first time a photo of a
SPHYNX cat in a magazine, we were immediately charmed by its very
special beauty and not out of this world appearance. We decided to
get this astonishing cat and devote our effort to its further
development in a controlled breeding.
I and my husband got two cats Ulaila and Unika, which have been
inseparable couple since their youth. Since the time they have
been surprising us with their inventiveness, spontaneity
and playfulness.
My daughter and her husband rear two months older tomcat Sirius,
which is
accompanied in their house by eight-years-old
Afghan
greyhound Andy
and a
cat Jerry.
In the beginning we were not successful in our effort to get a
Sphynx kitten. It took us almost two years until we learned about
Mrs. Sonya Strummer from Austria, who is breeding this hairless
breed. Thanks to her we realized our dream and we could start with
a quality breeding of these fragile and strange little cats. This
way we would like to thank her for her professional advice and
help, which she gave us for the beginning. |
